The Social Media takeover

The social media world can be an intimidating world to dive into without the right tools. If this ever-changing world doesn’t scare you, then your not using in correctly. Americans on avergae are awake 16.5 hours a day and spend 8.5 hours of it on PC’s and smartphones, which is an hour longer than they actually sleep. This opens a huge gateway for organizations to market themselves to a specific audience. These audinces are grouped into Social technographics, which groups people according to how they use social technology. In other words, it groups people into how the interact with social media. The groups are: creators, critics, collectors, joiners, spectators, inactives. A way to begin your journey into social media would be to categorize yourself and work towards a goal or a goal of your organization. When creating a goal for your social media use, understand that you don’t control content. The only thing you can control is what you listen to, what content you put out, how much you engage your audience, and how involved you are with your social media. If you are worried about having control over content and easy way to do this would be to begin a blog. Yes, blogs are social media. This can be difficult to spark a following from but can be affective when you do. To get your feet wet with social media it would be a good idea to experiment personally then apply professionaly. It can and will get easier the more you practice and the more savvy you are with this great tool the more exposure your organization will get.
